LAS VEGAS (1/08/07) -- Wireworld introduced its value-priced Island HDMI cable to dealers and consumers at the 2007 Consumer Electronics Show here today. Island is the thinnest and most flexible HDMI cable currently available, and will sell in lengths of one to five meters at very affordable prices.

"Island is our first entry-level HDMI cable," comments Wireworld president and chief designer David Salz. "Thanks to our extensive research into flat cable technology, we have been able to adapt our high-end flat-cable designs to deliver excellent performance for relatively short runs at an extremely low cost. Additionally, thanks to their remarkably thin profile and flexible design, the Island easily the easiest HDMI cable to install and conceal currently available."

The Island HDMI cable is less than 1/8th-inch (3mm) thick and 1⁄2-inch (13mm) wide, and has a specified bend radius of just 1⁄2-inch, allowing for a remarkable range of installation options without compromising performance. The high quality terminations employ unusually compact connectors, making the cables even easier to use in tight spaces. Island is fully 1080p compliant in all available lengths, making them an inexpensive, but valuable upgrade for current high definition displays and sources, including HD-DVD and Blu-Ray 1080p disc players.

Like Wireworld’s entire line of flat HDMI and DVI cables, Island is UL-CL3 and CSA-FT4 rated for in-wall installation, and is available in 1, 2, 3, and 5 meter lengths at prices beginning at $34.95 for a one-meter length.

Wireworld, which was founded by Salz in 1992, is the premier provider of leading edge digital and analog cable technology for home audio and video. The company has an unmatched reputation for producing superior cables based on the use of objective perceptual testing, innovative patented designs, premium materials, and exceptional manufacturing quality.
