DENVER (9/13/06) -- Wireworld introduced five models in its premium line of audio and home theater component power cords to custom installation professionals at the CEDIA Expo here today. The 52 series power cords (spoken "five-squared") feature a unique flat geometry that exploits inductive and capacitive filtering effects to minimize unwanted power line noise and harmonics, leading to improvements in the imaging, dynamic range, and resolution of audio and video electronic components.

"A good power cord needs to solve a very different set of problems than an audio or video cable," comments Wireworld President David Salz. "Interconnects and speaker cables should pass the entire frequency range with the absolute minimum possible alteration, getting out of the way of the source material. Power cords, however, should pass only the 50Hz or 60Hz AC power signal, while attenuating other frequencies to prevent power line noise and harmonics from infiltrating the electronic components' power supply."

"Our 52 series power cords' unique flat shape is a reflection of their innovative coiled conductor design, which maximizes inductive filtering ," continues Salz. "We also employ a sophisticated composite insulation that absorbs far more high frequency energy than conventional single-material insulation. The 52 power cords' low-impedance copper foil shields are capacitively-coupled to the coiled conductors, further improving filtering benefits. The shields' heightened cancellation effects allow the cords to absorb and dissipate noise that other cords and power conditioners simply cannot adequately remove.

The top of the line Gold Electra 52 power cord features Ohno Continuous Cast (OCC) solid silver conductors, and silver-clad brass contacts for optimal signal transfer. It is currently available at a suggested retail price of $1999.95 for a standard 2 meter length.

The Silver Electra 52 employs OCC silver-clad copper conductors, and silver-clad contacts. It is currently available at a suggested retail price of $699.95 for a standard 2 meter length.

The Electra 52 employs OCC copper conductors, and silver-clad contacts. It is currently available at a suggested retail price of $359.95 for a standard 2 meter length.

The Aurora 52 uses silver-clad oxygen-free copper conductors and gold-plated contacts. It is currently available at a suggested retail price of $179.95 for a standard 2 meter length.

The Stratus 52 employs oxygen-free copper conductors and gold-plated contacts. It is currently available at a suggested retail price of $99.95 for a standard 2 meter length.
