LAS VEGAS (1/05/06) – Wireworld has introduced three new
m odels in its extensive line of flat HDMI and DVI cables, each
incorporating design and engineering advances from the top-of-the-line
Silver Starlight 52, one of two Wireworld products
selected to receive the CES 2006 Innovations Design and Engineering
Award. The Chroma 52, Ultraviolet 52, and
Starlight 52 digital video cables each feature a unique
flat topology, and are a mere 0.16 inches (4mm) thick and 0.71inches
(18mm) wide, providing superior flexibility and expanding installation
options.
"The 52-series cables' unusual design is more
than skin deep," said David Salz, Wireworld's president and
designer. "They are the result of completely re-thinking
digital cable technology from the ground up. All round HDMI and
DVI cables are essentially the same design that has been used
in computer cables for decades. Unfortunately, this conventional
design introduces signal loss, crosstalk, and timing errors that
limit the cable's ability to keep up with the extreme demands
of digital video signals."
"Thanks to our exclusive flat cable design which effectively
reduces digital jitter, these 52 cables are capable
of carrying extremely high bandwidth signals, including 1080p,
over longer runs than conventional designs without signal degradation,"
continued Salz. "This design benefits from a newly developed
dense and flexible shield that provides dramatically improved
shielding and conductivity without introducing additional bulk
or excessive cost."
All Wireworld 52 HDMI and DVI cables are UL-CL3 and
CSA-FT4 rated for in-wall installation, and are available in various
lengths between 1 M (3.3 ft.) and 20M (65.6 ft.)
The Chroma 52 cables feature Oxygen-Free Copper (OFC)
signal conductors and molded connectors for either HDMI or DVI
applications. They are currently available at a suggested retail
price of $59.95 for a 1 meter length.
The Ultraviolet 52 cables feature silver-clad OFC
signal conductors, silver-clad copper shielding, and die-cast
zinc connectors for high durability and superior shielding. They
are currently available at a suggested retail price of $129.95
for a 1 meter length.
The Starlight 52 cables feature the same shielding
and connectors as the Ultraviolet 52 cables, but contain more
silver for improved performance. They are currently available
at a suggested retail price of $199.95 for a 1 meter length.
Wireworld, which was founded by Salz in 1992, offers a broad
spectrum of very high quality speaker cables, audio and video
interconnects, digital audio interconnects, power cords, digital
A/V cables, and plasma/LCD control cables. The company has an
excellent reputation among audio and home theater enthusiasts
for producing high quality cables based on the use of objective
perceptual testing, patented designs, premium materials, and exceptional
manufacturing quality.
