Transformative Engineering Introduces Its HD-1 HDMI Extender
Transformative Engineering Delivers Full-function HDMI Extender Offering Outstanding Options for Custom Installers.
NORWOOD, MA (8/3/11) -- Transformative Engineering, a new company devoted to improving the audio/video interface for custom installers and systems integrators, has introduced its HD–1 Professional HDMI Extender, which expands the range of an HDMI cable connection from its typical 30-foot maximum to well over 300 feet using inexpensive CAT5e/CAT6 cables. This will allow projectors and other HDMI devices to be located far from their sources with no loss of picture resolution or HDMI functions such as 3D and Audio Return Channel, while providing up to 4k x 2k resolution.
In addition to a full HDMI interface, the Transformative Engineering HD-1 also supports a TOSLINK digital audio output, infrared bi-directional remote control pass-thru, three-port 10/100T Ethernet connections, and a full function RS-232 extension.
The HD-1, which is now shipping, is based on the newly-developed HDBaseT standard, which many in the industry see as the most viable means to extend the physical range of video displays. While most conventional analog and digital cables work well over short distances, they struggle to send audio and video signals from, for example, one end of a house or office to the other. Transformative Engineering's implementation of HDBaseT solves these problems by offering signal extenders that use cost-effective CAT5e/6 networking cables to extend ranges to over 300 feet. These audio-video-data extenders allow residential custom AV installers and commercial systems integrators to create large-scale, cost-effective, and very high quality integrated audio, video, home automation, and computer systems.
The Transformative Engineering HD-1 HDMI Extender is currently available from T-E dealers, rep distributors, and directly from the company. End-User pricing is determined by the Dealer/Installer. Visit www.transformativeengineering.com for more information.
Transformative Engineering (T-E) designs and manufactures audio, video, and data communications devices and related components that are used by custom installers and systems integrators to create sophisticated home and commercial systems. These products are the result of its founders' decisions to rethink the design and purpose of certain common-use custom installation and systems integration devices that were underperforming because of substandard quality. The company has grown out of the collaboration and enthusiasm of three veterans of the Electronics Industry: Jay Trieber, President; Peter Tribeman, VP of Marketing; and Engne Tang, Chief Technology Officer. Each of these three founders felt there was a “better mousetrap” to be made, and the results would be enthusiastically received by the Installer community. Their continuing experience with custom installation in their primary companies will infuse this new company with the insight to create the right products for dealers and installers.
