DENVER - CEDIA EXPO 2014 – Parasound's CEDIA Expo 2014 exhibit will showcase three exciting new products for its dealers. The San Francisco-based company will introduce the ZoneMaster 1250 Universal 12 channel amplifier and Zdac V.2 DAC/headphone, and it will also show a prototype of its forthcoming Halo 160-watt stereo integrated amplifier and DAC.  The Halo P 5 preamplifier and Zamp•Quattro four-channel zone amplifier from early 2014 will be featured along with a selection of other Parasound products popular with custom installers.

"Over the past five years, Parasound has significantly expanded sales globally and domestically where others have contracted or called it quits," said company president, Richard Schram. "Parasound's engineering tailored to custom installation places a priority on high-end sound, reliability, sensible features and good looks. Parasound has carved out a solid niche among top-flight audio and audio/video retailers. These are the dealers who have profited from integrating home installation and automation without sacrificing their core audiophile values and commitment to state-of-the-art video."

The Parasound ZoneMaster Model 1250 is a versatile, efficient 12-channel power amplifier with great sound quality, high power, and multiple configuration modes, served in a versatile 2U rack-mount form factor that addresses the many needs of industry professionals. There are independent line inputs and level controls for each channel. There are two Bus inputs with looping outputs, plus a speaker-level input that can be routed to any zone. There are independent 12-volt and audio triggers for each of the six zones, and a global 12-volt trigger. It has connections for 24 speakers and 2-ohm stability, allowing the use of two speakers per channel. It is rated at 12x50 watts into 8 ohms, and 12x90 watts into 4 ohms. Each channel pair can be bridged to deliver 6x160 watts into 8 ohms and 6x200 watts into 4 ohms RMS, all channels driven.

"The ZoneMaster Model 1250 is a game changer in a category populated by mediocre generic IC amplifiers," continues Schram. "The Class AB input stage and premium Class D power stage generate performance consistent with Parasound's heritage. It is as useful for distributed audio as it is for home theater, where it could augment an AV receiver with 3x160 plus 4x50 watts."

The Parasound Zdac V.2 offers a number of improvements over the original Zdac, including enhanced preamplifier capabilities, a new high-slew-rate headphone amplifier with increased gain and dual output jacks for 1/4- and 1/8-inch phones, and improved system integration with 12-volt triggers. Lightning jack equipped Apple iOS devices can now send digital audio to Zdac V.2 USB port (Apple Lighting to USB adapter required).

The Zdac V.2 is now configured to drive a power amplifier directly without need of a preamplifier. Its balanced XLR and RCA line outputs can be variable, or fixed level for maximum signal-to-noise. Twelve-volt triggers are now provided for automatic on and off. Like it's predecessor, Zdac V.2 has optical and coaxial digital inputs that support up to 192-kHz/24-bit sources, and a USB input for up to 96 kHz/24 bit sources. It provides asynchronous sample rate conversion of all inputs, which are re-clocked and up-sampled to 422 kHz/24 bit.
