San Francisco (2/26/03) -- Parasound has introduced its HaloControl
software that allows a laptop or PC to be used for set-up and
adjustment of the company’s high-end Halo C 1 and C 2
Audio/Video Controllers. The program’s Windows-based graphical
interface makes it easy to configure all control functions and
feature sets, and to backup and store custom settings and profiles.
For the custom installer, the HaloControl software and saved
profiles can be taken from job to job to speed future installations.
The system owner can also run HaloControl software on any PC
to fine-tune performance, add new features, and upgrade software.
“Our Halo C 1 and C 2 A/V Controllers include the most
comprehensive set of adjustments and features in this product
category,” comments Parasound president Richard Schram.
“For custom installers, this software will greatly simplify
the task of setting up a sophisticated A/V Controller, allowing
them to achieve the highest sound quality and user convenience
in a relatively short time. The use of PC-based control programs
makes perfect sense, and we’re quite sure that this will
become the preferred method of setup and control for A/V equipment
in the future.”
HaloControl software was designed with custom installers in
mind, providing a powerful tool to dramatically streamline the
time required to get a home theater system up and running. The
ability to save complete system configurations enables an installer
or his client to return a system to a previous configuration,
as well as load and adjust commonly used settings over and over
again.
HaloControl, which is designed specifically to work with the
Halo C 1 and C 2, works on any PC running Windows 95 or higher.
The computer connects to the Controller via a rear-panel RS-232
serial port, which can also be used for integration with home
automation systems, and for future firmware upgrades to the
Controller.
Parasound introduced the Halo brand in 2002 as a performance-
and design-conscious step-up from the company’s traditional
product line. Founded in 1981, Parasound Products, Inc., is
a privately owned U.S. company that specializes in providing
affordable audio and home theater components to the critical
listener. For more information and dealer locations, visit http://www.parasound.com
