Parasound Inks Distribution Deal with AVAD

SAN FRANCISCO (6/2/08) – Parasound, one of the world's best regarded manufacturers of high performance audio/video components, has announced a nationwide distribution deal with A/V distribution giant AVAD. Under the new partnership, all AVAD branches in the US will carry Parasound's custom installation focused New Classic and Z Series components. Parasound had previously supplied components to eight of AVAD's US branches.

Tom DeFiglio to Parasound from Dolby

Parasound, one of the world's premiere manufacturers of high quality electronics components for home theater and music, has appointed Tom DeFiglio, recently of Dolby Labs, to its Technical Services Group.

Parasound has introduced the D 200, the company's first DVD player. Part of the company's custom-installation focused NewClassic line of audio/video products, the D 200 features scalable HDMI output with HDCP, Faroudja DCDi processing for precision progressive scan, two-way RS-232 port, and is compatible with CD, DVD, and multichannel DVD-A and SACD.

 

Parasound Delivers Half-rack Zone Tuner with Available Crestron and AMX Modules for System Integration


Parasound has introduced its third generation half-rack width tuner. The Ztuner v.2 is a high-quality FM/AM tuner that improves on the popular Ztuner with upgraded performance and features to make life easier for the custom installation professional. These include software modules for both Crestron and AMX based control systems. Part of the problem-solving Parasound Zcustom matched mini-components, the Ztuner v.2 is just 1 rack space tall and 9-1/2 inches wide - half the width of a conventional audio component.

 

Parasound's NewClassic Model 5250 Wins Home Theater Magazine's RAVE Award for "Best Home Theater Amplifier under $3,000"

SAN FRANCISCO (4/12/06) – The Parasound NewClassic Model 5250 home theater power amplifier has been named "Best Amplifier Under $3,000" by Home Theater Magazine in their announcement of the 2006 RAVE Award winners.

The Home Theater Magazine's RAVE awards are chosen by the magazine's editors and reviewers based on a product review during the past year. The awards will be presented by Maureen Jenson, Editor-in-chief, at the Home Entertainment Show, which opens June 1st in Los Angeles.

 

 

Parasound Zbreeze Quietly Cools Rack-mounted AV Gear

Parasound has added a rack-mounted cooling fan to its Zcustom family of custom installation problem-solving components. The Parasound Zbreeze uses three whisper-quiet fans mounted in a compact half-rack width Zcustom chassis. It is designed to provide targeted ventilation to prevent localized hot-spots from building up in racks and cabinets to supplement otherwise adequate overall ventilation.


 

Parasound Adds Dedicated HDMI Switcher to its Zcustom Line

Allows high definition video display owners to add five-source HDMI switching capabilities to audio/video processors from Parasound and others.


Parasound has introduced a five in/one out high-definition digital-video and -audio switching device that will add integrated HDMI source selection capabilities to the company's current audio-video processors, as well as many other processors and AV receivers using the included remote control. The Parasound Zcustom Zhd is used as a source selector for up to five HDMI video sources, connecting any of the inputs to an HDMI video projector or other display device. It is the latest of the company's many half-width rack-mountable custom installation problem solvers.

 

Parasound Names Precor as its Canadian Distributor

SAN FRANCISCO (12/30/05) -- Parasound, a privately held US manufacturer of premium audio-video and architectural audio components, has named Precor Consumer Electronics, of Concord, Ontario as its exclusive Canadian distributor. In making the announcement here today, Parasound's International Sales Manager, Martin Harding praised Precor's excellent track record and complementary lines as factors in Parasound's decision.
