Outlaw Audio Expands Subwoofer Lineup with New Larger, Louder, Lower LFM-1 EX

NEW YORK (5/11/07) -- Outlaw Audio, the leading Internet-only home theater and audio manufacturer, debuted its new LFM-1 EX subwoofer at the Home Entertainment Show here today. The new top-of-the-line model expands the capabilities of the company's successful LFM subwoofer line with the largest enclosure it has ever offered, giving it extended linear bass capabilities reaching down to 16 Hz. It also features selectable tuning options that favor either maximum SPL output, or lower frequency bass extension, depending on source material and listener preference.

The LFM-1 EX employs a powerful 350-watt BASH power amplifier module, a 12-inch long-throw woofer, and a large dual-port downfiring enclosure design that almost completely eliminates port noise and allows for excellent placement flexibility. It includes a sophisticated selectable EQ circuit that enables users to select between high-SPL or low-extension tuning modes when used in conjunction with the included custom port plug.

With its custom port plug removed and the Port Mode switch set for "maximum output," the LFM-1 EX is tuned to deliver linear response down to 22 Hz at an output level of up to 118 dB in typical listening environments. When the port plug is installed, and the EQ selector switch set to "maximum extension," the subwoofer is re-tuned for much deeper linear response, all the way to 16 Hz at a slightly reduced maximum output level.

The rear-mounted amplifier section includes both line-level and speaker-level inputs, as well as speaker-level outputs for use with any receiver or processor. Crossover level is continuously variable from 40 to 180 Hz, or can be bypassed entirely for ideal integration with a full-range speaker system or when used with electronics that include first class bass management. Finally, the 180-degree phase control can be used to tame adverse room interactions.

The Outlaw Audio LFM-1 EX subwoofer is will be available in July exclusively through the Outlaw's website at www.outlawaudio.com at a price of $649.

Privately owned, Outlaw Audio designs their own line of high-performance, high-value consumer electronics products and markets them exclusively via the internet from their www.outlawaudio.com website. The recipient of numerous major awards and "Recommended Component" ratings from major publications, Outlaw's products are widely regarded by audiophiles around the world.
