EASTON, MA (4/16/06) – Outlaw Audio, the leading Internet-only consumer
electronics brand, has introduced a pair of home theater components
that give consumers a value-priced alternative to all-in-one home
theater receivers.
"When we introduced the Model 1070 receiver, we realized
that if we removed the amplifier section and did some fine tuning,
we could deliver a real giant-killer of a value-priced Pre/Pro,"
comments Outlaw Audio spokesman Scott Jackson. "When matched
with the Model 7075, or any of our multichannel or monoblock amplifiers,
the Model 970 gives consumers a better-performing and more flexible
alternative to all-in-one home theater receivers. These products
deliver all the advantages of separate processing and amplification
equipment for home theater at prices that are quite simply a steal."
Model 970 AV Preamplifier/Processor
The Outlaw Audio Model 970 Pre-Pro delivers advanced audio/video
processing and integration based on the core platform developed
for Outlaw's acclaimed Model 1070 A/V receiver. It includes an
advanced DSP engine using the highly regarded Cirrus Logic CS
49400 processor engine, and 192 kHz/24-bit Cirrus Logic DACs for
digital-to-analog conversion for all audio channels. It is capable
of decoding every current digital audio format, including Dolby
Digital EX, DTS, DTS-ES, and DTS-96/24. Dolby ProLogic IIx, including
detailed parameter controls, and DTS Neo:6 processing are included
for detailed multichannel sound from any stereo or multichannel
soundtrack. For audiophile listening, it includes an analog bypass
mode to prevent any degradation of the audio signal from unnecessary
digital to analog conversions.
The Model 970 also includes a wide range of digital and analog
video switching and conversion features to simplify connection
to modern video displays. There are two DVI inputs and one output
to provide digital video switching for sources such as HDTV tuners,
high-end DVD players, and home theater PCs. These inputs are also
compatible with HDMI signals using adapter cables such as Outlaw's
PDH interconnects. For analog video, there are four composite,
four S-Video, and three component video inputs with 100 MHz switching
for HD signals. All analog video signals are transcoded to component
video for simplified connectivity.
The Model 970's 7.1-channel direct analog audio input includes
extensive bass management configuration options, including digital,
analog and bypass modes. In digital operation, all channels are
converted to the digital domain, and the unit's quadruple-crossover
is applied as with any digital source. In analog mode, a standard
80 Hz analog crossover is applied to each channel, eliminating
the need for conversion between the analog and digital domains.
Lastly, there is a wire-to-wire bypass mode that removes all processing
circuitry for the highest possible signal fidelity.
The Model 970's audio connections include four A/V analog inputs,
three audio-only stereo inputs, and a total of eight assignable
digital audio inputs to accommodate a wide range of source equipment.
For integration with an external amplifier, there are full 7.1-channel
preouts, as well as a 12-volt trigger. An RS-232 port completes
the feature package, enabling connection to compatible computers
for future software upgrades.
The Outlaw Audio Model 970 includes a high quality AM/FM tuner
with 30 presets, and a backlit programmable remote control. It
is now available only from www.outlawaudio.com for a value-oriented
$699.
Model 7075 Power Amplifier
The Model 7075 is a 7-channel power amplifier delivering 75
Watts per channel into 8 ohm loads (al channels driven, 20 Hz
– 20 kHz, at less than .08% THD) and 115 Watts RMS into
4 Ohm loads.
Designed and built in the United States, the Model 7075 uses
the highest quality parts and a modular configuration. Each channel
has four discrete output devices and 16,400 microfarads of total
filter capacitance. The unit's high current power supply is driven
by a toroidal transformer with two separate windings for each
channel, ensuring enough current for even the most demanding transients
and special effects.
Individual heatsinks provide cooling for each amplifier module,
eliminating the need for noisy cooling fans. In addition, the
amplifier is protected against high heat and over-current conditions
by separate Opti-coupled protection circuits for each channel.
Low-voltage trigger inputs are provided to integrate with products
that include this feature, such as Outlaw's Model 970 and Model
990 preamplifier/processors.
Like all Outlaw products, the Outlaw Model 7075 amplifier is
available exclusively from www.outlawaudio.com at a suggested
retail price of $699. The Model 970 Preamplifier/processor and
the Model 7075 are available as a package at a reduced price of
$1298.
Privately owned Outlaw Audio designs their own line of high-performance,
high-value consumer electronics products and markets them exclusively
via the Internet from their www.outlawaudio.com website. The recipient
of numerous major awards and "Recommended Component"
ratings from major publications, Outlaw's products are widely
regarded by audiophiles around the world.
