| Outlaw Audio, the leading internet-only
home theater manufacturer, has introduced the Model 1070, a full-featured,
7.1 channel A/V receiver that delivers the ultimate in sonic performance
at a value price. It features DVI switching, component video cross-conversion,
7x65 Watts with all channels driven, and one of the most comprehensive
suites of bass management options available at any price.
"We've spent almost two years designing, testing, and refining
the Model 1070," said the Outlaws. "Now that it's here,
we are confident that we not only have a worthy successor to our
popular Model 1050, but a new benchmark in bang-for-the-buck receivers."
The Model 1070’s amplifier is conservatively rated to
deliver 65 Watts per channel into 8-Ohm loads with all channels
driven from 20 to 20,000 Hz. The receiver's massive toroidal transformer,
all discrete output stage, and total of 90,000 microfarads of
filter capacitance enable it to handle the most extreme current
demands and transients for remarkably detailed and responsive
performance with any loudspeaker system.
The advanced DSP engine used for audio processing in the Model
1070 is based around the highly regarded Cirrus Logic CS 49400
processor engine. 192 kHz/24-bit Cirrus Logic DACs perform digital
to analog conversion for all channels. It supports all current
digital audio formats, including Dolby Digital EX, DTS, DTS-ES,
and DTS-96/24. Matrix processing includes Dolby ProLogic IIx with
detailed parameter control for music modes, DTS Neo:6, Dolby Virtual
Speaker, Dolby Headphone, and selectable 5, 6, and 7 channel stereo
modes. For audiophile listening, it includes an analog bypass
mode to prevent any degradation of the audio signal from unnecessary
digital to analog conversions.
For video sources, the Model 1070 includes a wide range of features
to simplify connection to modern video displays. There are two
DVI inputs and one output to provide signal switching for sources
such as HDTV tuners, high-end DVD players, and home theater PCs.
These inputs are also compatible with HDMI signals using adapter
cables such as Outlaw's recently introduced PDH interconnects.
For analog video sources, the Model 1070 features four composite
or S-Video inputs, and three component video inputs with 100 MHz
switching for HD signals. There is cross conversion that allows
composite and S-Video sources to be viewed as component video,
and the unit's OSD is even available on component video outputs.
The Model 1070 includes a 7.1-channel direct audio input with
extensive bass management configuration options, including digital,
analog and bypass modes. In digital operation, all channels are
converted to the digital domain by 192 kHz/24-bit Cirrus Logic
ADC's. The receiver's four way digital crossover allows each loudspeaker
pair's crossover to be set independently for optimal integration
with any speaker/subwoofer arrangement. The "true analog"
mode includes an 80 Hz analog crossover circuit for each channel,
eliminating the need for conversion between the analog and digital
domains. Lastly, there is a wire-to-wire bypass mode that removes
all processing circuitry for the highest possible signal fidelity.
The Model 1070 also includes four A/V analog inputs, three audio-only
stereo inputs, and a total of eight assignable digital audio inputs
to accommodate a wide range of source equipment. For integration
with an external amplifier, there are full 7.1-channel preouts,
as well as a 12-volt trigger. An RS-232 port completes the feature
package, enabling connection to compatible computers for future
software upgrades.
The Outlaw Audio Model 1070 includes a high quality AM/FM tuner
with 30 presets, and a backlit programmable remote control. It
is available only from www.outlawaudio.com for a value oriented
$899.
Privately owned Outlaw Audio designs their own line of high-performance,
high-value consumer electronics products and markets them exclusively
via the Internet from their www.outlawaudio.com website. The recipient
