Onkyo Professional Debuts DVD player and CD Changer Engineered for Commercial System Installations

UPPER SADDLE RIVER, NJ (2-xx-05) – Onkyo Professional has introduced two source components specifically designed for professional systems installations, the DV-SP55 DVD player and the DX-C34 six-disc CD changer. Each model combines premium audio processing with advanced control and integration features like a bidirectional RS-232 and IR in/out jacks for seamless integration with commercial audio/video equipment and control systems.

For audio reproduction, both the DV-SP55 and the DX-C34 feature premium quality 192 kHz/24-bit Wolfson DACs coupled with Onkyo's exclusive Vector Linear Shaping Circuit (VLSC) for smoother and more linear analog audio output. For digital output, they include the company's Direct Digital Path to bypass unnecessary circuitry for maximum audio fidelity at the rear panel digital outputs.

For distributed audio systems, each unit features a rear-panel RS-232 port as well as IR in and out ports for complete control of all playback functions. They include a selectable 'family' of nine discrete IR code sets, allowing for individual control of multiple units in a single system. There are both optical and coaxial digital outputs as well as conventional analog outputs, and heavy duty removable power cords.

The Onkyo Professional DV-SP55 DVD player features both RCA and BNC component video outputs, as well as two sets of S-Video and Composite video outputs for optimum compatibility with any home theater display. The player's deinterlacing circuitry includes 2-3 pulldown to deliver progressive scan output free of the artifacts that otherwise occur when film-based video, shot at 24 fps (frame-per-second), is converted to 30 fps for reproduction on home video displays. The DV-SP55 is currently available at a suggested price of $399.

The Onkyo Professional DX-C34 features a smooth, silent six disc carousel tray with an attractive blue illumination light to improve disc recognition in low-light conditions. It includes a full-function handheld remote control. The DX-C34 is currently available at a suggested price of $399.
