Onkyo Adds Rocketboost™ Wireless Zone 2 Audio Technology for 2011

LAS VEGAS, 1/4/10 -- Onkyo has announced a major new-technology partnership with Rocketboost to facilitate new audio products for wireless Zone 2 and other wireless speaker configurations.

"Onkyo has chosen this technology because it provides an easy-to-use and high audio-quality solution for wireless Zone 2," said Paul Wasek, Marketing Manager, Onkyo USA. "Rocketboost's uncompressed wireless signal can also deliver HD-quality 24-bit, 96-kHz digital audio.  The systems are easy to set up and to use, and fully compatible with Rocketboost products from other manufacturers."

All Onkyo receivers introduced in 2011 will be Rocketboost-Ready. They will use a U-Port-connected Rocketboost transceiver module to transmit the audio to a remote Rocketboost receiver module that is built in or plugs into the Zone 2 audio system. Onkyo's first Zone 2 audio systems will be a compact and stylish one-piece unit with networking capability, built-in speakers and dock for iPod/iPhone.  An optional Rocketboost card will be required. All Rocketboost accessories will be sold separately.

Onkyo views these as the first of a growing line of future Rocketboost enabled products. More detailed product information and prices will be announced when these products are delivered in the Spring.
