DENVER (9/13/06) -- Canton, Germany's leading
loudspeaker manufacturer, has introduced four new in-ceiling speakers
as part of its growing family of architectural audio products.
These new models are notable for their exceptional sound-quality,
craftsmanship, ease-of-installation, and the availability of a
single-point stereo speaker.
The Canton InCeiling 500, InCeiling 650, and InCeiling 800 are
two-way speakers with adjustable 1-inch aluminum dome tweeters
and 5-1/4-, 6-1/2-, and 8-1/4-inch polypropylene woofers respectively.
They are engineered for optimal acoustic performance in ceiling
applications, with pivoting tweeters and three-position tweeter
level controls for tailoring acoustics to individual listening
environments.
The InCeiling 650 DT is a single-point stereo speaker with two
1-inch aluminum tweeters and a 6-1/2-inch dual-voice-coil woofer.
This configuration allows both the left and right channels to
be played through a single speaker. This is ideal for speakers
in halls and small rooms where the layout makes speaker pairs
impossible, and the listener's ears are often moving and rarely
in the stereo sweet spot.
"Ceiling speakers are a rapidly growing market for Canton,"
said Paul Madsen, the president of Canton USA. "By combining
Canton's exceptional sound and build-quality with ease of installation
we have created an unbeatable package. The new single-point stereo
speaker is a vital addition for areas such as hallways, kitchens,
and just about anywhere that the listener is often moving around."
All of Canton's InCeiling models feature rotating turn-and-lock
mounting tabs for quick and simple installation, and threaded
brass inserts for improved holding power and resistance to stripping.
Each speaker features a perforated metal grill that incorporates
an internal fabric scrim to keep internal components from being
visible, and the speaker assembly can be easily removed from the
mounting bracket, greatly simplifying the process of painting
trim rings and grills to match room color.
The Canton InCeiling 500, InCeiling 650, InCeiling 650 DT, and
InCeiling 800 will be available in September for $214.50, $274.50,
$299.00, and $324.50 each, respectively.
Canton is the largest manufacturer and best-selling brand of
loudspeakers in Germany. It was founded in 1973 by a group of
audio enthusiasts who defined their mission "to always develop
the finest loudspeakers in their class." For more information
