| For immediate release: Canton Expands Architectural Audio Lines at CEDIA Company reaffirms its commitment to custom installers with new models that offer broader capabilities, improved performance, and greater convenience.
DENVER (9/13/06) -- Canton, Germany's leading loudspeaker
manufacturer, will announce a significant expansion of its architectural
audio product line at the CEDIA trade show, opening in Denver on September
14. The company will add four new in-wall and four in-ceiling speakers,
as well as an active tower speaker for its flat-screen plasma line.
In addition to traditional in-wall and ceiling models, the new lineup
includes Canton's first in-wall LCR speaker for home theater and its
first single-point-stereo ceiling speaker.
"This is a big step forward for Canton in the US custom installation market," said Paul Madsen, the president of Canton USA. "Our freestanding and on-wall speakers have always been a favorite of installers, but we've been fielding more and more requests for a broader line of in-wall and in-ceiling offerings. We've answered our dealers with eight new architectural models, including our first in-wall LCR and point-source stereo ceiling speakers. With the expanded architectural lineup, as well as our three CD lines of plasma-friendly on-wall and tower speakers, and our low-profile Ergo and LE on-walls, Canton presents a great range of alternatives for the serious custom installer." The new Canton InWall 500, InWall 650 and InWall
800 are two-way speakers with 5-1/4-, The Canton InCeiling 500, InCeiling 650, and InCeiling 800 are two-way speakers with pivoting 1-inch aluminum dome tweeters and 5-1/4-, 6-1/2-, and 8-1/4-inch polypropylene woofers respectively. The InCeiling 650 DT is a single-point stereo speaker with two 1-inch aluminum tweeters and a 6-1/2-inch dual-voice-coil woofer. Like the in-wall models, all of the ceiling speakers include three-position tweeter level controls to optimize each speaker to its acoustic environment, and removable speaker assemblies to facilitate painting frame and grills to match the room. Canton's new CD 3200 is an active loudspeaker, featuring a 200-watt IcePower™ amplifier module, four aluminum 4-inch mid/bass drivers, and the company's signature 1-inch aluminum-manganese tweeter. The CD 3200 is based on the same elegant extruded aluminum enclosure design and driver arrangement as the acclaimed CD 300 speaker, but has been re-engineered to make optimal use of the increased power and response of its highly acclaimed IcePower™ internal amplifier. Canton's current Ergo 601 and LE 110 on-wall speaker models provide additional flexibility to the company's lineup. These attractive wall-mounting two-way speakers are less than 4 inches deep, and are available in a variety of finishes, including real wood veneer. Canton's previous in-wall and ceiling speakers will be carried through the transition to the new models. All of the above models are either available now or from Canton dealers at the end of September. Canton is the largest manufacturer and best-selling brand of loudspeakers in Germany. It was founded in 1973 by a group of audio enthusiasts who defined their mission "to always develop the finest loudspeakers in their class."
