Canton, Germany's largest and best-selling loudspeaker manufacturer, has added three new high-performance loudspeakers to its flagship Reference line. The new models, which were announced here today by Canton's US distributor, offer smaller and less expensive alternatives to the recently introduced Reference 3.2 DC, while sharing the same new ceramic dome tweeter and 'triple-curve' cone woofer/midrange design introduced with that model. The new models consist of the Reference 5.2 and Reference 7.2, which are three-way floor standing loudspeakers, and the Reference 9.2, which is a two-way monitor speaker designed for pedestal mounting.

Canton Raises Performance Bar with High-Value GLE Loudspeaker Series

Canton, Germany's largest and best selling manufacturer of loudspeakers, has introduced its redesigned  GLE series of loudspeakers for stereo and multichannel audio. With six models, and an infusion of technology developed for the company's high-end lines, the new GLE line delivers remarkable audio performance at very reasonable price points.  The series consists of two floorstanding models, two compact speakers, a horizontal center-channel and a low-depth on-wall speaker. Also introduced in the line is the company's  new 'mocca' bicolor finish option that combines a simulated cabinet veneer of African wenge wood and a gloss white baffle.

"This is a watershed year for the GLE lineup," said Paul Madsen, President of Canton USA. "The revised driver and motor systems, as well as the changes in the enclosure design, have really taken the performance of the line to a very refined level. We've simply never offered so much of our high end technology at such low price points."

In keeping with Canton's evolutionary approach to design, where each generation builds on the last, this new lineup incorporates a number of subtle refinements for improved performance, but still maintains the essential sonic and aesthetic character that has made the Karat series one of our most popular lines."

Canton 'Movie' Systems Offer a Precision Alternative to Anemic Home Theater Cube Speakers

Canton has added two new systems to its popular 'Movie' family of small home theater speaker packages which offer exceptional sound quality for their size, and add new high gloss black or silver finishes. The new Movie 80 CX and Movie 120 MX systems join two current packages, the Movie 60 CX and Movie 150 QX.

Each of these systems combines four small satellite speakers with a matching horizontal center channel speaker and powerful active subwoofer for full 5.1-channel surround sound reproduction. Unlike many similarly-sized systems, which unnecessarily sacrifice performance for size, Canton's Movie line was designed using the same computer-aided modeling and testing facilities used for its much more expensive speakers to match the precision Canton driver sets to each of the different cabinet designs. This allows each system to deliver remarkably powerful and detailed sound in a range of cabinet sizes that are small and attractive enough to suit any home or apartment.
