BROADVIEW, IL (7/12/05) -- Blaupunkt has introduced two new subwoofers in its Thin Line loudspeaker series, delivering high-end performance in situations where there is no room for a full size subwoofer. With a mounting depth of just 2-1/2 inches, the 10 and 12 inch Thin Line THw subwoofers can be installed in vehicle doors, tailgates, or even under seats, allowing consumers to enjoy powerful bass reproduction in installations that could never be accomplished with conventional cone subwoofers.

The THw1000 and THw1200 subwoofers employ 10- and 12-inch cones that employ a revolutionary design based on aerospace wing-building technology. By laminating a lightweight, saucer-shaped, foam core with a very strong but thin aluminum skin, Blaupunkt design engineers have developed an ultra-rigid and lightweight cone that is highly resistant to flexing and distortion, even when driven at high power levels.

The Blaupunkt THw subwoofers include stylish screen mesh grilles designed to enhance any vehicle interior and complement the company's full-range THc Thin-Line component speaker systems. Each subwoofer includes a detailed manual and cutout templates for accurate, easy installation. The THw 1000 and THw1200 subwoofers are currently available at suggested retail prices of $199.95 and $219.95 each, respectively.
