| BROADVIEW, IL (3/15/07) – Blaupunkt, which
recently marked the 50th anniversary of its professional products
line for coaches and commercial applications, has introduced a new
line of integrated audio, video, and navigation systems for motor
coaches with 24-volt electrical systems. The Blaupunkt Professional
Line 2 consists of audio and video source components, telematics-compatible
navigation system, and new LCD video displays.
"These products
mark an important step forward for Blaupunkt Professional systems
in the US market," said Andy Oswick, OE Sales Manager, Blaupunkt
USA. "They will give our coach customers new options for
customer entertainment, information delivery, navigation, and
telematics. By integrating all of these systems, coach operators
will be able to support their passengers' needs while maintaining
safe and efficient operation on the road. By equipping their coaches
with systems that are highly capable and easy to use, owners and
operators will improve their control and vehicle management functions
while enhancing driver morale and efficiency."
The heart of the new system is the Blaupunkt CCU 02 MP3 professional
control unit, which integrates the functions of the radio, CD,
and MP3 music sources; three microphone inputs; external communications
systems; DVD and broadcast TV video sources; and the navigation
system interface. The CCU is located in the dashboard for convenient
driver access, while a remote control is provided for use by a
tour-guide.
The CVX 02 is an integrated DVD player with separate LCD display
that also functions as a navigation display and control display
for all of the Professional Line 2 system components. It also
provides amplified audio outputs to power the audio for the passengers,
and a separately controlled system for the driver.
The Blaupunkt TravelPilot EX-V Coach navigation system provdes
turn-by-turn directions to any street address or major point-of-interest
destinations in the continental US and much of Canada. This system
features an RS-232 interface that allows it to interface with
various telematics systems for fleet management, remote dispatch,
traffic avoidance, and many other capabilities.
For enhanced passenger entertainment, Blaupunkt is also introducing
two new LCD flat panel video screens. One is a large 23-inch system
designed for mounting above the driver in full view of the passengers.
The other is a 15-inch roof-mounted monitor that is designed to
flip out of the way forward or backwards to avoid injuries to
passing passengers. This patented mechanism is unique in the market.
The Blaupunkt Professional Line 2 products are currently available
in the US and Canada through Blaupunkt's OEM Sales division. For
