Blaupunkt Debuts Innovative 19-inch LCD Monitor 2008 UMA Motorcoach Expo

SAN FRANCISCO (1/17/08) -- Blaupunkt Professional Systems will introduce a high-quality 19-inch LCD monitor for the bus and commercial transportation AV systems at the UMA Motorcoach Expo here this week. The unit features an innovative soft knock-back swivel mounting system that reduces damage and injury due to accidental bumps from passengers, and features DVI (Digital Video Interface) compatibility that facilitates multi-monitor installations from a single source.

Part of Blaupunkt's complete range of LCD monitors designed specifically for motorcoach information and entertainment systems, the 19-inch monitor allows for a large-format video display without hindering passenger movement in the event of an emergency. In addition to the driver-controlled up/down swivel mechanism, the monitor mount includes a clutch-release system that allows it to swing harmlessly out of the way in the event a passenger accidentally bumps into it, or in situations where motor power is for retraction.

Additionally, the monitor features a high-quality DVI interface, delivering outstanding digital video quality that is extremely resistant to transmission interference. Multiple monitors can be can be switched in series with integrated repeaters and served from one source, allowing for scaling of video systems to suit the size and needs of individual transports. Finally, the monitor includes the 'capture-logo' feature found on all Blaupunkt's Professional systems monitors, letting operators select an individual start-up screen for their company or coach.
