Atlantic Technology Introduces Larger Version of its Acclaimed 3-in-1 Flat Panel Speaker

Atlantic Technology has debuted its FS-5000 three-in-one front soundstage speaker system, a single 50-inch–wide enclosure that houses three independent two-way speaker systems for complete reproduction of all three front channels of a home theater system, eliminating the installation problems of in-wall speakers and the space consumption of large floorstanding models. This new model is a larger and more powerful alternative to the company's well-received FS-4000, featuring upgraded drivers, improved power handling and bass response, and a flexible array of included on-wall and shelf mounting hardware, making it the perfect complement to larger flat panel displays.

The FS-5000 cabinet is just 5-inches deep, and is internally separated into three individual chambers, each featuring a single 1-inch dome tweeter and a pair of the company's 4-1/2-inch GLH (Graphite Loaded Homopolymer) woofers that have been re-engineered with longer throws and larger magnet systems for improved power handling and bass response. Each section of the housing is a complete speaker unto itself, with separate speaker terminals and a pair of rear panel controls developed for the company's high-end speaker systems. These allow the speakers to be sonically tailored for a wide variety of room acoustics, listener preferences, and mounting configurations.

"When we introduced the FS-4000 at CEDIA two years ago, we knew we had a great idea on our hands," comments Atlantic Technology President Peter Tribeman. "Installers loved the ability to give consumers a complete front soundstage in a package that is easier to install, set-up, and live with than typical box or in-wall speakers. There was just one small thing… they wanted a larger, more powerful version for use with displays over 50-inches, and in large theater rooms. The FS-5000 is our answer."

The FS-5000's bass response extends down to 70 Hz, providing full-bodied musical sound even when used without a subwoofer. The speaker can also be combined with any of Atlantic's highly regarded subwoofers and surround speakers to create a stunning and immersive home theater system.

The FS-5000 can be mounted directly on the wall with keyhole mounts, and also includes a choice of either a straight bracket for mounting perpendicular to the wall, or angle bracket that aims the speaker slightly up (when mounted below the display), or down (when mounted above the display). In addition, it also comes with a stud bracket that anchors the speaker securely to wall studs for a rock-solid installation. Lastly, the FS-5000 also includes Atlantic Technology's exclusive rocker base, which allows the speaker to be mounted on a shelf or on the video display itself, and tilted toward the listening area at any angle desired.

The FS-5000 loudspeaker system is available in metallic silver or gloss black finishes, with a matching perforated metal grille.

The Atlantic Technology Model FS-5000 is now available at a suggested retail price of $1,499 each.
