LAS VEGAS (1/08/03) – Atlantic Technology has introduced the System 1200, a 5.1-channel speaker package that delivers high quality home theater sound at a modest cost of just $1200. The system consists of five identical full-range two-way satellites and a powerful 125 Watt, 10-inch subwoofer.

The System 1200 LR speakers are attractive two-way sealed box bookshelf style loudspeakers. Each utilizes a 4-1/2 inch GLH (Graphite Loaded Homopolymer) woofer to provide high fidelity reproduction of the crucial upper bass and midrange frequency range, so important for providing clear and intelligible dialog. An advanced 1-inch ferrofluid cooled, damped soft dome tweeter with a powerful neodymium magnet structure is employed for high frequencies, giving the speakers their precise imaging characteristics and spacious sound. Each speaker is magnetically shielded for use next to video displays.

The deep bass reproduction for the system 1200 is handled by the powerful 125-watt Model 212 SB powered subwoofer. The 212 SB features a heavily braced sealed-box enclosure to house a 10-inch long-throw composite cone that uses a 2-inch, four layer vented aluminum voice coil to generate linear bass response from 30 to 150 Hz (+ /– 3 dB). It features line level inputs, level and crossover adjustments, phase inversion switch, and even low level outputs for daisy chaining multiple subwoofers together. It also incorporates Atlantic's exclusive Clear Filter Technology™, which actually eliminates the deleterious effects that the subwoofer's enclosure itself can have on the sound.

The Atlantic Technology System 1200 LR satellites are available in an attractive maple finish at a suggested retail price of $145 each. The Model 212 SB is available with matching maple finish side panels at a suggested retail price of $475. The speakers are also available in finishes of gloss black or silver at a marginal cost premium.
